hussyinterrupted perhaps you should read a book that doesn't have cartoon pictures or size 24 fonts. NSDAP was a conveniant name for Hitler to gather votes from the entire moderate spectrum of German voters, while appealing to the more moderate extremists. Hitler hated socialism but he was still pragmatic in securing the leadership of Germany, and to question whether or not he was a fascist would be like asking if you can drink sewage. Ridiculous.
What you are saying actually has some validity to it (without going overboard), but realise both sides spread false accusations: it's part of politics.
Unfortunately most people don't understand the difference between a socialist republic (communism, like in China/Cuba) and a socialist democracy (mixed economy, like in Sweden). The US is heading towards neither, but definitely not the first. Socialists in the US most often base their models on the Sweden system or similar, and last I checked, Sweden was a great place to live.
The easy answer to this question is YES....there is more clear evidence...it is called the 750 Trillion dollars + bailout of the multinational corporate banks at the expense and against the wishes of the populace.
