Is there any evidence that the Crucifixion is false?

as the story goes, yes. Jesus and others weren't nailed to the cross by their hands, it was wrists. Historically, yes people like Christ were put to death in this way and Jesus was definitely a historical figure who suffered this death. The rest has to be taken on faith, and that's a personal judgment call.Is there any evidence that the Crucifixion is false?
That'd be incredibly hard to prove unless you can find, something like an inscription saying ';Jesus of Nazereth was NOT cruicified here, or ever.'; The question should be asking whether any evidence can prove the crucifixion is true.Is there any evidence that the Crucifixion is false?
I am a Catholic; a solid believer in the Crucifixion and Resurrection.

But, I don't see how one can say there is evidence that something DIDN'T happen.
well if you learn history you would know historically it is said punishment for stealing would be stoning to death not Crucifixion , which is what is claimed God was crucified for .
Well, I believe he was crucified, but I don't think he was ressurected. There's no evidence saying the crucifixion is false, but there's also no evidence saying it's true. At least none that I know of.
don't know, I am an Atheist but I do believe a guy called Jesus was nailed to a cross. I do not believe he was the son of god or god himself.
There have always been arguments and attempts to disprove it, but I have never heard of any real evidence. Quite the opposite. Josh McDowell was one who set out to disprove it and wound up compiling one of the most comprehensive books available in support of the resurrection: Evidence That Demands A Verdict.
Does it matter? Lot of people were crucified back then...
i dont think so...but i believe that ';it'; did really happened.

v(^^)v peace!
the crucifixion of who?

the crucifixion happened for real. if ur sincere to know my answer then here it is:

there is a guy who betrayed jesus and told his enemies about where he is so they can crucify him. so god made that traitor look liek jesus and when he reached his people he was crucified instead. but people thought he was jesus and that was the whole point of it, that the enemy would think so.

however, his close companions saw jesus after three days of crucifixion and they were surprised, and on that say he got reserected. he told them the story and got reserected. the stories got written, and shared amongst the closest of the companions.

St paul wanted to repent for what he did to jesus on some previous occasions, and he was jewish, so he converted and he tried his best to portray jesus in a godly way as a form of regret, so he distorted the image.

the close companions couldnt report the true story to everyone, because they will get presecuted by the jews. but the narration of St paul was taken instead because he got more active and popular although he wasnt close to jesus at all.

the close companions where told of the true signs of prophet hood. and they passed it on for generations, (not too many). and then , when those generations met the prophet mohammed, they knew him by his symptoms, it was an old christian man who told the prophets uncle that he should protect him becase he is a prophet.

thats the story and how i know it. it makes sense to me. thats how it was explained to me by a man who visited jerusalim, and his story is easy to understand. he supported it by verses from the quran and narrations of the prophet.

i feel so guilty for not putting them on here, but i have to search for them and its time to sleep now. so excuse me.

one more thing, im not a scholar, so not every detail is 100% except that the concept is true and the reality of crucifixion.

woah that was a long answer.
That's not the way it works: there has to be evidence that it really happened. You can't really have negative evidence like you are asking about... it is like asking for evidence that the 800 ton purple duck didn't fart the Universe into existence 3,567,488,999,450 years ago after eating a burrito. You can't provide any. Which doesn't mean that it happened by default.
