I stand corrected. You proved my point...theories are used to explain something from tests that yield the SAME results. Evolution has failed to prove that. Evolution cannot prove the origins of humans based on arbitrary bones...that's why it's called a theory...you want to argue science? Then argue it ';correctly';

I'm not an anthropologist, but...it seems to me that if apes could evolve into human beings in 20,000 years...then human beings today would be significantly more evolved than human beings 6000 years ago...and we're not. If you don't believe ancient humans were as smart as us, take a closer look how much Galileo and Isaac Newton accomplished without the use of a calculator! (I so couldn't do that even with my 'highly evolved' brain.)





I stopped believing in evolution when I entered college and was told that all the ';laws'; and theories that had been taught as ';Fact'; in high school were actually just ';ideas which experimentation consistently supports.'; In other words...we can't prove it's not true.





Evolution? Sorry, guys, but most mutations cause an organism to become sterile--or to die. And yet enough occurred spontaneously to change apes into humans in a few thousand years? I'm having trouble. The most successful examples of mutations I can think of were the work of farmers and breeders (see the happy influence of the Caretaker!)





If you read the Bible carefully, you will notice that it tells us the Lord created the heavens and the earth, but it doesn't exactly specify how. If you accept the idea that ';God can do anything'; than you accept that He can make 4.5 billion years of evolution take place in a few days--and I'm thinking that's how He did it!

I am a Christian, and I hope I won't be mocked or brushed aside for this discussion, since you wanted ';a little debate';. Here are some stuff, nothing that can make you state without doubt that God is true, but nevertheless:





First, Scientists are searching for life on Mars declare that for life to exist, one must have water, light and atmosphere. And God said, 鈥淟et there be light, and there was light.'; Here, we have water and light. Mind, this was before human beings understood the concept of what's needed to create life. And since many think that Bible is written by men....


As well: ';And God said, Let there be an expanse between the waters to seperate water from water. So God made the expance and seperated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called hte expase 'sky'. '; And finally, we have the atmosphere. All these conditions were fulfilled before God created anything else.








Also, the evolution theory states that Human evolved from apes who evolved from a more disadvanced group... all the way till the primordial soup. I was wondering, if people cannot believe that life cannot come from a lifeless source, how does evolution theory work? Is it just about time? I'm not quite sure how this evolution theory works.... Help?

And on final note (or not so final note) I do believe that if you believe, you will find evidence, but God makes it in such a way that the people when faced with evidence, could still put it aside and not believe - and that is free will. But that is my opinion only - I did not find it in bible, but in what i've been taught and what God told me

before you even get into a debate with them--let them give us some clear archeological proof of the events of their bible. There is 0 archeological evidence of the ten plagues, exodous, wanderings, or even occupation of the ';promised land'; until about a millenia later. Let them explain why the noah story sounds like a rip off of the epic of giglamesh--let them explain why the moses myth sounds suspicously like the sumerian king sargon myth. Let them explain why the genesis account (creation of man from earth) sounds like the babylonian creation story. Toss in a little--why don't we find major events in the hebrew religion (like the temple curtain being ripped in two) in the jewish archives? Why there is no historical evidence of the jesus myth. Until they can properly defend their own religion--they don't have any business with commenting on evolution. They think ';cauyse the bible says so'; is an adequate answer--but until they prove their bible is actually something unique--the ';bible says so'; answser in meaningless.
I don't have an answer for you, I just came on here to see the replies. Plus I want the 2 points. Don't you just love it when Christians tell you that evolution and big band are just theories and not facts? They are assuming that the bible is fact. (shakes head)
I love this question, but I have to say that no true Christian is going to debate. They think that what they believe is the only truth and whatever anyone else thinks is false and they will burn in hell for it. I can't wait to see what they say though.
The burden of proof for evolution is on us that accept it. Luckily, there's plenty of evidence that it is in fact true..





And as someone else pointed out, most Christians do accept evolution.
they believe that the 7 days of earths creation were not a little 7 days. they think one day was like a whole era millions or billions of years. they think that god is behind the evolution process

christians don't deny evolution at all we just believe that some greater being (God) must have let it happen and we believe that God is true because of faith and just the mere belief that there must be a greater Being than us that created us and everything else
Why is it you presume that one cannot be a Christian and STILL believe in Evolution and Science.

The great majority of Christians have no problem with evolution. Opposing scientific fact is certainly not part of genuine Christian teaching.

Why is everyone saying that the theory of evolution says we evolved from apes?
I think the only one who can prove God's existence to an atheist is God. All this time that christians waste arguing with atheists.. I believe they do it to give themselves an ego boost.

The evidence that evolution is false is that no one ever sees anything evolving. There has never been anything produced to turn the evolution theory into proven fact. If there was, it would not be called a theory any more.





God is true, because I talk to him everyday and he helps me in my life.


He is as real to me as the nose on your face.





I also know he is real because he has Jehovah's Witnesses preaching in every language all over the world with the exact same material. The Watchtower is printed in about 38million copies a month (not including the Awake and study version of the Watchtower). This is the highest circulation magazine in the world. And there is no charge for it.





That is a modern day miracle.

Lots of things can adapt to changes. They do not however evolve.
