Better known as, ';Are you religious?';
Note: I said false promises because there are literally hundreds and thousands texts out there. They can't all be right. ';But I know my one is'; is an unthoughtful answer.Which would you rather trust: scientific EVIDENCE or books of false PROMISES?
Tom, that is a foolish question. No one in his right mind is going to give you the answer they would rather trust books of false promises, do you think. However, I suspect you have made the assumption about the Bible so want to make a point of how worthy is the Scientific evidence at a given time in history. So lets play your game.
You are a student at the best university of Europe. The professor tells the class that the earth is flat, what year is it? Now all scientific proof pointed to the fact that the earth must be flat, everyone is saying it. Live two hundred years until Columbus sailed the Atlantic to discover the western hemisphere---what happened to the flat earth?
Did you know that for the first 1800 plus years AD that man hardly considered it wrong about the creation of the earth as told in the Bible. Then a young man comes up with a theory, based on his observations of the animals on the isolated island string of Galapagos off the coast of SA. Darwin refuted his theory in his latter years but scientist had gotten the hook, line and sinker. A new wonderful path of scientific pursuit. Then fossils were found so a new scientific pursuit. Then when things did not work quite like one planned, some just put it down anyway, then later scientist disproved it and found so many of the earlier discoveries had been bogus. Shame on those early scientist.
Now scientist, some at least, are finding the carbon 14 test not to be so accurate, others are finding that man and dinosaurs did co-exist as evident in human foot prints inlaid on top of those of dinosaurs. Or the latest is fossils take million years to form, yet red corpuscles have been found in some recently uncovered bones----really.
Where is the sound scientific evidence I am to trust? Am I to trust the findings of thousands of scholars and scientist who are trying to disprove the content of the Bible? They are batting 000 Tom. Scientist said the Red Sea did not roll back as is told in the Bible about Moses leading the Israelite out of Egypt. Yet, just recently were found chariots of Egyptian origin, of the proper period at the bottom of the Red Sea at the suggested crossing place by the Israelite. Man is so proud of himself, he just found the cure for yeast infection. How brilliant is man, yet it is all there in the Bible they disbelieve, written by men, inspired by God over 3500 years ago. Tom, who am I to believe, the evidence presented by God's word or the floundering around of the scientific minds of today?
A basic principal of science is: A scientific law explains a unique occurrence and can be shown to be true consistently through test, not isolated to a given lab but any lab in the world. Newton's law of gravitation can be proved over and over again. However, some things do not lend themselves to scientific law, not with our current knowledge. So man attempts to explain them with theories, such as Darwin and his theory of the 'Origin of the Species'. It is a theory, not a law. If the truth came out, there would be thousands upon thousands who would lose their jobs and have wasted degrees for they follow a theory that cannot be proved. God's word has not been disproved, and I believe it is the path for me to take---do you know where you are going?Which would you rather trust: scientific EVIDENCE or books of false PROMISES?
I follow the principles of the Bible. When the Bible speaks to scientific issues it is 100% accurate. It just doesn't speak to such issues often. The Bible does speak to issues of politics, geography and history, and again it is accurate. Many scientists have taken hints from the Bible in order to better pursue hypotheses in their scientific studies.
Some, who are committed to Darwinism will not tolerate evidence that seems to falsify their view.
Religion is a mixture of trust and experience. People believe because it makes sense and is something they can relate to on a personal level. The reason science is interesting is because it investigates the solutions to questions on the world around us.
For example there is a difference between poetry and logic puzzles. A poem is not a logic puzzle and to try to figure out how it works as one is rediculous.
Well ,funny you should mention Books , scientists have writen down alot of things that are suposed to be facts , then published them as fact , but they are now telling of a new theory , call the quantum theory it has 12 possible dimensions or is it 11 this is a kin to wishfull thinking ,,and they will publish it . as if it were fact , they also came up with string theory , these are possible , ,but fact ? Right so my question which dimension was it where possitive was negative and black was white , because in these theories all things that can happen do happen , and God covers that with ,,have faith .
Psa 118:8 [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
P.S. Logic dictates that one of them is right.
Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
my interpretation of science is....MAN trying to figure out til he's blue how and what God Created and what makes em' tick :-) God Bless and yes, I'll stick with His Word and Law thanks for askin...
God created heaven and earth and all things and therefore God created the scientists who discover things that God created years ago
This one is an easy one for me. Scientific evidence! Most brilliant minds are also atheist.
I'm a fan of peer-reviewed scientific evidence.
What scientific evidence, Timothy Cooley? Please elaborate..
God keeps His promises. He's not a liar. Man is a liar.
I trust whatever gets me laid.
Trust , hmmm, the fairie tails are always nicest.
/sigh.
God that was trite. Sorry that was rude, but it is.
I'm a fan of science, and also a fan of God.
God's word
I trust both. Thanks
Tim, Tim, Tim...
